A summary of the data obtained from these analyses (Table IV) shows that different chemotypes of each of the subspecies can be found. Of these, only the thymol chemotypes of T. zygis ssp. gracilis is typical of the red thyme oil in commerce. Only the chemotype thymol will be shown here:
