Use: Lavender (Lavandula officinalis) is indigenous to Northern Mediterranean region and is nowadays cultivated in Southern Europe, Bulgaria, Russian Federation and United States of America. Lavender flower preparations are traditionally used for treatment of nerve-related disorders such as moderate forms of insomnia, laryngitis, asthma, sinusitis, as mild sedative and for its spasmolytic, carminative and stomachic efficacy. Topically, it is applied for treatment of burns, insect bites, wounds, skin disorders and headaches.
