PhytoVital Grapefruit
Odor: characteristic
Use: PhytoVital - Grapefruit is obtained through a gentle extraction of the whole fruits of citrus decumana or citrus maxima. This aromatic fruits contains carbohydrates like fructose, dextrose, inositol, mannitol and different organic acids, especially fruit acids, like malic acid, citric acid, etc. Different kinds of oligosaccharides, flavonoids, amino acids and vitamins (vitamin B 6, niacinamide) are as well found together with mineral salts. Grapefruit has a strong skin hydrating effect due to its polysaccharide/amino acid complex. Young attractive skin is characterized by elasticity and softness associated with proper skin hydration. PhytoVital - Grapefruit is a restitutive product for the hydration of the skin, contributing to the natural moisturizing factors normally found below the lipid layer. Fruit acids (specially the AHA - acids) found in the extract are having a light peeling effect on the skin, contributing to its renewal and giving a healthy appeal. Because of the presence of these substances, grapefruit extracts also have multiple uses in the Cosmetics Industry. Included are all products which support the regeneration of dry or tired skin. These are, for example, facial creams, lotions and masks, in facial foam masks, shampoos and body lotions. PhytoVital - Grapefruit should be stored at room temperature under normal conditions. Low temperature can cause cloudiness, but this does not influence the activity and it regains its normal appearance at temperatures exceeding 15°C. PhytoVital - Grapefruit is stable at low temperature in the original unopened container for a minimum of 12 months. Sedimentation may occur but has no negative influence on the material either. PhytoVital - Extracts are finalized due to a special extraction process.

IFRA Code of Practice Notification of the 49th Amendment to the IFRA Code of Practice
IFRA Critical Effect: Phototoxicity
IFRA fragrance material specification:
Where the bergapten (5-methoxypsoralen) content of all relevant oils present in a compound has been determined, it is recommended that for applications on areas of skin exposed to sunshine, excluding bath preparations, soaps and other products which are washed off the skin, the total level of bergapten in the consumer products should not exceed 0.0015% (15 ppm). This is equivalent to 0.0075% (75 ppm) in a fragrance compound used at 20% in the consumer product. Where the level of bergapten has not been determined by appropriate methods, the limits specified in the guidelines on individual oils should apply. In those cases, where such oils are used in combination with other phototoxic ingredients, the additive effect has to be taken into consideration and the use levels have to be reduced accordingly. The sum of the concentrations of all phototoxic fragrance ingredients, expressed in % of their recommended maximum level in the consumer product, shall not exceed 100.
