Notes: Red Sandalwood is derived from the small tree Pterocarpus Santalinus and that the wood is not fragrant. It does not yield an essential oil upon steam distillation and it is not used in perfumery creation. The powdered wood is used as a red colorant in food products, particularly in canned food and spice mixtures and sauces.
