eucalyptus australiana var. "b" oil
eucalyptus hellandra oil

Notes:
The oil of Eucalyptus Australians exists in several forms apart from the type tree. We shall describe only the type and the variety called "B". The two oils are produced in sizeable quantities in southern Australia and the trees have lately been introduced in the Union of South Africa. The oils are produced locally by steam distillation of fresh or semi dry leaf material. Both oils are colorless or pale yellow, mobile liquids, Eucalyptus Australiana, variety "B" is also called Eucalyptus hellandra. It is a phellandrene cineole type of oil, not suitable for pharmaceutical purposes, but of some interest to perfumery because of its great masking effect and low cost. This oil is produced on a large scale in Australia and on a small scale in Belgian Congo. Its odor is fresh, very powerful, peppery camphoraceous and it has a pleasant dryout but little or no fixative effect.
