ethyl cellulose
triethyl cellulose

Notes:
Stabiliser and thickener for foods. Diluent in food marking inks. Indirect additive arising by migration from paper/paperboard packaging Ethyl cellulose is a derivative of cellulose in which some of the hydroxyl groups on the repeating glucose units are converted into ethyl ether groups. The number of ethyl groups can vary depending on the manufacture.

Aqualon™ ethylcellulose
Odor: odorless
Use: Aqualon ethylcellulose (EC) is a cellulose ether distinguished by its versatility. As a unique product with wide-ranging solubility and flexibility at low temperatures, ethylcellulose is frequently used in electronics in addition to a variety of other applications. It provides high solution clarity, good thermal stability, even burnout and has very low decomposition temperatures. Aqualon EC is a key binder for gravure printing inks as well as a thickening binder in flexographic and screen printing inks. In these applications, Aqualon EC polymers provide scuff resistance, adhesion, fast solvent release, film formation and outstanding rheology control.

Flavor: characteristic
Making savory foods and beverages is important for meeting the discerning taste buds of consumers. But often times, sedimentation and other unsightly appearances can cast a cloud over a food product’s success.
Dow Chemical
METHOCEL™ Bind
Flavor: characteristic
Why spend so much effort creating great products only to have them lose their shape and texture, when prepared at home? It creates waste, slows production and disappoints consumers. METHOCEL™ Bind ensures that ingredients are bound together so that foods retain their shape during processing and cooking and sauces keep their perfect texture.
Dow Chemical
METHOCEL™ Film
Flavor: characteristic
The food ingredient METHOCEL™ Film comes to rescue when you need transparent, flexible food coatings or improve the coating properties of glazes, batters and marinades.

METHOCEL™ Foam
Flavor: characteristic
Many of us enjoy the sinful thrill of tasty desserts – whether it’s whipped toppings or chocolate mousses. METHOCEL™ Foam is a food ingredient that helps these products maintain that long-lasting stable aeration and creaminess we all love.
Dow Chemical
METHOCEL™ Heatset
Flavor: characteristic
When it comes to handling the Heatset, we are right at home in the kitchen. METHOCEL™ Heatset is our food ingredient solution to prevent boilout – a problem that occurs when the filling that was supposed to remain inside a pot pie, ravioli or egg roll finds its way out before we’ve gotten a chance to take our first bite.
